Dr. Sujit, médico pediatra e fundador da ONGD Institute for Indian Mother and Child encontrar-se-á em Portugal de 16 a 21 de Novembro, do corrente ano, para divulgação do seu projecto humanitário em Bengal- Índia.

No dia 17 estará em Lisboa no CUPAV; no dia 18 em Coimbra, na Fac. Psicologia e Medicina;  nos dias 19 e 20 no Porto, no Colégio do Rosário, da Paz, na Univ.Lusófona e de Medicina e regressará a Lisboa no dia 21.

The Institute for Indian Mother & Child (IIMC) is a non governmental voluntary organization, committed to promote child & maternal health, literacy and to accelerate International solidarity & Peace.

IIMC was initiated by Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary and was set up in 1989, with the mission to give support to the medical needs of the poorest and most backward people of West Bengal, India; people who have no access to basic healthcare and medicinal facilities.

Today, IIMC has expanded its activities to include Medical Program, Health Education & Health Promotion Program, Network Program, Education & Sponsorhip Program, and integrated rural developmental projects including women economical empowerment though Micro Finance Banking Program and agricultural program.

Interested in volunteering? The IIMC welcomes medical students, economics students, and English and computer teachers to participate in the project. Medical students and teachers are invited for one month, and economics students interested in working with the microcredit bank are invited for three months. Volunteering at the IIMC is a unique opportunity to gain insight into health and development in India and to learn about Indian culture while making an important contribution to the organization.
